We are excited to welcome artist Mary Finlayson to Foundry Vineyards for a new exhibition opening August 7.

Mary Finlayson is a Canadian-born artist living and working in San Francisco. Her paintings are a celebration of color, pattern, and form, chronicling the beauty and familiarity of everyday spaces.

Her tightly constructed and highly detailed works capture the feeling of interiors and lived environments, often evoking the memory of a place rather than a direct representation of what is real. With bright palettes, repetitive patterns, and simplified forms, Finlayson’s work pays homage to artists such as Corita Kent, Henri Matisse, and Stuart Davis.

Blending painting and printmaking, Finlayson’s visual language is shaped by her background in silkscreen and lithography. Her work is joyful, precise, and full of energy — transforming ordinary spaces into layered compositions of color and memory.
