Mark and Patty Anderson started Foundry Vineyards in 2003, passing the reins to their children in 2015. Get to know Lisa & Jay Anderson, the 2nd generation owners and lifelong Walla Wallans, along with the rest of the Foundry Vineyards family.

Jay holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Washington in Interdisciplinary Visual Art and Art History, and a Masters of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York. In addition to his passion for the arts, Jay holds a culinary degree from The Seattle Art Institute and has cooked at some of Seattle’s premier fine dining establishments: Rover’s, Café Campagne, and Dahlia Lounge.

Jay took over wine production at Foundry Vineyards in 2017. In 2018 he began transitioning the winery towards sourcing organic grapes, natural fermentations, and low-intervention methods.

When not at Foundry Vineyards, Jay spends time with his wife Kelsee and two children Jackson and Lucas. Jay is also a practicing artist working in the media of painting and sculpture.

Lisa grew up interacting with contemporary artists at her family’s business the Walla Walla Foundry. This immersion sparked her life-long passion for the arts. Lisa studied art history at the American University of Paris for two years. Then relocated to San Francisco, California where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Art History and Arts Management and Master’s Degree in Business Administration. During the seven years, she lived in California Lisa worked in the fields of collections management, data management, and finance.

In the Fall of 2015, Lisa moved back to Walla Walla and joined the Foundry Vineyards team. Community and the arts are her passion - she works tirelessly as the curator of the gallery to bring artwork from all over the world to Walla Walla. She loves inviting the community in to participate in a dialogue about the arts, the state of the world, or lighter topics like her favorite wines and how adorable her dog Cashew is.
