WALLA WALLA
ABOUT THE SHOW
Foundry Vineyards is excited to announce our first juried art show. With our 20th Anniversary in 2023, we are reflecting on our history, our future, and recognizing how grateful we are to our supportive local community. It is our honor and pleasure to share the gallery space with artists in the Walla Walla area and share their stories with the Foundry’s visitors.
A portion of profits from the sale of all artwork will go directly to ArtWalla's Arts Build Communities Grant - awarded annually to arts, cultural, and educational organizations in the Walla Walla Valley.
ABOUT THE ARTIST(S)
Meet the Selected Jurors:
JENNA GARD is a project manager at the Walla Walla Foundry with an extensive background in production for the fine art and entertainment industries. Prior to coming to Walla Walla, Jenna worked for fashion photography studios, art publications, independent artist collectives, and entertainment studios building scenic assets for companies such as the MoMA Design Store, MTV, and HBO. In addition to her professional life, she also maintains a practice of experimental lo-fi photography and an informal Instagram journal researching and synthesizing the oddities and backstories that appear throughout the history of art.
JUVENTINO ARANDA is a multidisciplinary artist whose processes and material choices dismantle social stratifications. His work is an exploration of media mixing that is both high and low, native and foreign, other and accepted to challenge the status quo and traditional American Narratives.
Aranda received his BFA from Eastern Washington University. He currently maintains a studio practice in Walla Walla, and is represented by the Greg Kucera Gallery, Seattle.
Solo exhibitions of his work include Esperé Mucho Tiempo Pa Ver (2022) at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU, Pullman, Pocket Full of Posies (2018) at the Frye Art Museum, Seattle, and Before I Wake (2022), In Dreams I Once Believed There Was a Future (2019) and Weed the Lawn and Feed the Roses (2017) all at the Greg Kucera Gallery, Seattle. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions throughout the Pacific Northwest. His works are in the collections of the Frye Art Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU, and the Microsoft Art Collection.
