Ali Mayfield, Winemaker

Ali joined Foundry Vineyards in 2011. Her education, work experiences, determination and vision made her a perfect fit for Foundry Vineyards.  As Mayfield puts her individual mark on the wines, they will be identified by a nuanced blending of tradition and innovation.

Mentored by the late Stan Clarke, she completed the Walla Walla Community College's program in Enology and Viticulture in 2007. Mayfield expanded her winemaking knowledge at Long Shadows under the guidance of internationally acclaimed winemakers from around the world, including resident winemaker, Gilles Nicault.

In 2008 she moved on to work four vintages at Corliss Estates under the guidance of winemaker Kendall Mix. In addition to expanding her knowledge of the winemaking process, she was able to sharpen her skills in chemistry, and the practical necessities of operating a thriving winery. She’s definitely a winemaker to watch!

Mark Anderson, Founder / Owner

Mark was home grown in Walla Walla and graduated with a Studio Art Degree from Whitman College.  He and and his wife Patty have been married for 33 years and have raised two children at the property which is home to Stonemarker - their estate vineyard. Mark's background is in art and entrepreneurial business, which explains his continued desire to explore the potential in new projects. Patty's knowledge of accounting and business structure is the perfect complement to that creative side.

Their first love is the arts, which is a large part of their lives as founders of the Walla Walla Foundry in 1980.  

Squire Broel, Owner

Squire brings a passion for life, adventure and creativity to Foundry Vineyards.  He and his wife, Amber, settled in Walla Walla in 1993, and have enjoyed the vibrancy and richness that comes with living in this valley.

They are both involved in the visual arts: Squire is a full-time artist and Amber is the Administrative Assistant at Fouts Center for Visual Arts at Whitman College. As Partners in Foundry Vineyards they can continue to share their passion for good food, memorable wines, and robust friendships.
